The food was alright but the service was terrible, won’t be back. Waited over half an hour to order with staff actively avoiding my gaze so they wouldn’t have to pick up our order. When I finally caught someone and politely asked to order she seemed pretty fuming that she had to do some work. Good food but shocking service. All of the staff seemed to be in a terrible mood tbh

We attended the "kid's picnic" on Sat 1st March - the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it was very under-attended. However, the two young ladies that took charge of the party were absolutely superb with the kids that were there, 10/10, and my daughter had a great time. The shift manager was great too. We will return for some of the other planned kid's activities, but I think the company need to promote them better on social media. For our part, we've already recruited a few of our daughter's friend's families into coming to the next one, the kid's disco!

Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, was taken to a table straight away, asked if we would like a drink whilst looking at the menu, which we did so the person went to get our drinks, then someone else came over asking if we would like a drink, which was great, they didn't just assume we had been seen to, we were well looked after by all the staff and didn't have to wait long for our food, overall, Great staff, cosy & warm environment, felt relaxed & will be back again soon. Thank you

Incredibly friendly and warm staff set the tone for the whole visit. They were all attentive, from the waiting staff to the chef at the carvery, good service really makes such a difference. The food was excellent too (carvery can be a bit and a miss at some places but the quality of the food here was great) and I felt it was well priced.

A wee gem of a place with amazing staff. I visited with a couple of elderly friends (82 and 87), we had some drama getting there due to an issue getting the walker into the boot of my car, resulting in having to do two trips to get them there, on first arrival we received a warm, friendly welcome and the lovely lady who assisted us looked after my friend with great care whilst I went back to pick up my other friend. The second welcome was just as warm! The young lad who served us could not have done anymore to ensure everything was spot on. He was informative and asked if there were any dietary requirements. The food was terrific, one friend particularly enjoyed the prawn cocktail whilst the other said the potato and leek soup was divine. Mains were fantastic, our steaks were cooked to perfection. As I had to do the two trip thing again to get them home, the lady left on her own was again looked after implicitly, both of them intend to return with their families. Highly recommend a visit. I will certainly be back! A huge thank you to everyone!!

I am a regular at the steam wheeler. It’s quite local to us and we get the bus along. It’s always such friendly faces and always really warmly welcomed. We are now on first name terms and the service is just outstanding. The food is always incredible. Not a bad word to say about the restaurant. Always such a happy customer when I leave. I look forward to going back after each visit.

We are regulars at the Steam Wheeler and we've never had a bad experience which make it our favourite place to go and eat. The food is great and the staff are brilliant, would definitely recommend

Been here a few times and never been disappointed! They offer a great selection including for those who have allergies and special diets. Carvery Joe is great and the chefs backstage are very knowledgable! Bar and waiting staff are always welcoming and able to answer any questions about anything! Shout out to James, Thomas and Johnny who are FAB with customer service and always remember you! Defo a great family venue with brilliant staff and value for money with a great menu selection on offer!
